STUDIO B / Residential Tower

Studio B - Part 2

For the second part of the Masters of Architecture Studio B (Melbourne School of Design) we were tasked with envisioning a conceptual design for a residential tower located in the Melbourne’s CBD. The residential tower is rigid type; its infinite stacking of dwelling units recalls a Corbusian wet dream. I responded to this warehousing of habitation by encasing a regular grid of modern units in a skin that takes graphic cues from Victorian industrial mills a postmodern nod to the architectural harbingers of industrialisation.
